Whether you call it "smallholding" or "homesteading" - there is just something about living off the land and being self-sufficient that feels right.  You know in your heart that it is the proper way to live.

Of course our ancestors thought nothing of this, could not imagine an alternative in fact.  But as a society we have drifted further and further from these roots.  Here at Blue Rock Station we are trying our best to recapture that sense of connectedness to the earth. 

This will certainly be a "learn-as-we-go" type of enterprise.  As we settle in and expand this part of the project, we intend to explore some of the following ideas:
