Raising Money One Donor at a Time - a workshop for Not-For-Profits

April 9th - 9:30 am to 3:30 pm

Being successful at raising money is not a secret process.  There are easy tried and true rules that apply.  During this one-day workshop Annie Warmke, co-convener of the SEOWGFN and longtime fundraiser will share the basics of how to establish a solid financial foundation for a non-profit.  To be held in the  Zanesville, Ohio area.

Attendees will:

  • begin development of an effective fund raising plan
  • determine strategies for finding good fund raising board members
  • market non-profit to donors – both individuals and corporations
  • create a solicitation letter that “sells” the mission
  • get started with the basics of planned giving
  • make the agency’s case to donors
  • identify prospective donors
  • develop “friend raising” opportunities
  • utilize the World Wide Web to raise money:  a 15 minute web page can do the job

Come Prepared:

Bring along someone else in the organization so you can go home and quickly implement the basic changes necessary to create a solid financial foundation for your organization.  Be prepared to stay for the entire workshop, including lunch.  Ask someone else to take your calls (including your mobile phone) for the day so that you can devote your energy to the simple tasks and exercises included in the workshop.

This is an opportunity to learn from someone who has successfully raised money from individuals and corporations over the past two decades.  Annie Warmke (Candice Slaughter Warmke) started raising money for non-profits in 1980 in Athens, Ohio.  Over the years she has founded and led several non-profits including Sunrise of Pasco County and Women’s Peacepower Foundation – an international women’s fund.  She has taught various forms of this workshop throughout the U.S., Germany, Russia, Ireland and England.

Fee:

The fee for the day is $79 for the first person from the organization and $65 for each additional attendee from the same organization.   Fees include all materials and a hearty lunch created from locally grown and produced food.   For more information or to register please send an email to annie@bluerockstation.com or telephone Annie Warmke (740) 674-4300.  For more information on the SEOWGFN visit  www.seowomensfund.org.
