An experiment in Green Living...

Michael worked on a variety of projects during his time at BRS.  He is a vegan chef so he created lots of scrumptious meals, and special desserts.  Then he took a break from that and did some manual labor projects.

The project he liked most was the rain garden that he designed and created.  The rain garden allows the water that runs off of the house nearest the sun room to flow slowly through a series of pools containing plants that mostly use up the water.  This created a beautiful space in a place that had been unsightly.

He also helped in the garden, planting and harvesting.  Plus he also assisted in canning and fermenting foods.

One of his projects was to work with Ryan Evans and Sarah Ayton to put slate on the roof of the intern chalet.  He also made a stone path to the Bunk House, and worked on the can/bottle wall of the chalet.

Michael learned a lot about life while he was at Blue Rock Station.  All of us will remember with fondness his guitar concerts, and his ability to pick up other languages easily – especially if involved meeting a beautiful young woman.
