Join guest cooks Annie Warmke from Blue Rock Station, and Brenda South from Log Cabin Weaving at the Flying J Farm  near Johnstown Ohio on Sunday afternoon as they show how to turn one inexpensive healthy soup recipe into three hearty original soups.  Then they’ll demonstrate how to can the extra soup.

Plan to join in to chop, dice, puree and have fun – aprons are provided or bring your own.

At the end of the demonstration everyone will sit down to a three-course meal to sample the feast.

Reservations are required and the cost is $25 per person.  To reserve your spot, visit www.bluerockstation.com or send a check to Blue Rock Station, 1190 Virginia Ridge, Philo OH 43771.

MORE ABOUT ANNIE & BRENDA, and the Flying J Farm:

Annie and Brenda have gained a bit of a reputation for their hearty down home cooking at Blue Rock Station.  Together they love to dream up menus to prepare and have been teaching a class with women survivors of violence on fast healthy food – making salsas, canning pickles, making ice cream and more.

Annie says she isn’t a cook but a person that puts things together.  She likes to focus on raw food if she can, but she wants everything to be fast so when she’s busy or in a hurry she can still eat healthy.  Besides cooking, Annie served as the project manager and contractor for the Earthship at BRS, and she teaches gardening, natural animal health and a variety of other topics.

Brenda loves to read cookbooks and has been cooking for Blue Rock Station for two years.  She enjoys experimenting with healthy cooking since Blue Rock Station likes to demonstrate healthy vegetarian food made with locally grown and produced ingredients.  Brenda is a shepherdess and a weaver with her own business, Log Cabin Weaving, located near Zanesville Ohio.

The Flying J Farm, owned by Richard Jensen is a place of relaxation and renewal and a source for chemical-free food, cross-country skiing, camping, fishing, canoeing, and horseback riding - AND the home of the Ohio Green Living Farye Labor Day.

Each summer the farm offers a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) which provides customers an opportunity to learn about organic gardening through hands-on experience in the garden.  As a bonus, they will take home their share of whatever garden products are available each week. For more information on costs contact the Flying J.  For more information contact Richard at jensen1942@embarqmail.com
