Stone Wall Gardens and a
Proper Cup of Tea
Notes from France and England
by Annie Warmke
Imagine walking narrow cobblestone paths that lead you past thousand-year-old buildings and chatting with folks on the other side of one of those stonewalls that surround a perfect French garden. Imagine spending the morning browsing in open-air street markets, buying the most perfect fruit you’ve ever seen, or perhaps some herbs for your garden.
Imagine having a spot of tea in an English garden, or exploring the pristine gardens of an entire town. Imagine touring the countryside to visit beautiful estates and humble cottage gardens. Imagine walking the hills overlooking storybook British villages, a bracing wind stinging your face. Imagine walking your dog along a babbling brook, stopping to watch fox hunters ride by in full regalia, a pack of howling hounds leading the procession.
Annie and Jay Warmke have not just imagined all of this… they have lived it. If you enjoy reading about life in a simpler place…or you would just like to experience life in a small town in France and England (without the travel), then you will enjoy reading the short stories that appear in this booklet.
