Natural Garden Insecticide Pack

Most insecticides are a legacy of chemical warfare.  Small wonder they can harm you as well as the bugs you are trying to kill.

If you are concerned about how to keep healthy bugs and critters in your garden, but get rid of the ones that do the most damage... then this packet holds some of the solutions to your dilemma.

We can ship the jar, or put everything into a plastic sealed bag - you choose.  Inside of  the package you will find:

Castor Bean Seeds
Tall beautiful big leaved plants used to ward off moles and voles.  Grow up to 10’ tall.  Direct seed after last frost date.  Easy to grow.  Seed pods form in the fall – popular to blue birds.  Save seeds year after year by drying pods.  Actual seed is inside of the prickly shell.

Lavender
Can be used in dresser draws and pantries to ward off moths and fleas.  Also great in cookies and muffins to provide a sweet smelling treat.

Diatomaceous Earth
Use in the garden or home as an insecticide without harming humans or animals.  Dries up most types of insects – ants, beetles, fleas, spiders, and some flying ones.  Also good to dust on pet food to eliminate worm parasites (after initial use re-dust in 14 days).

Hot Peppers
Extra hot peppers used to make hot pepper insecticide and deer/coon repellents.

Sunflower Seeds
A variety of Blue Rock Station grown sunflower seeds – open pollinated seed brought back from France.  Grow a variety of sizes and colors – save the seed in the fall for growing next year.  Bring those disappearing pollinators into your garden!

Dried Nicotinia (heirloom tobacco)
Make a tea for insecticide by adding package to a gallon of warm water.  Nicotinia is a potent substance for bugs, animals and humans and should be used only when there is an infestation.

Nicotinia Seeds
Grows up to 8 feet tall and serves as a host to many pollinators if left undisturbed.  Each seed pod holds hundreds of tiny seeds.  Start indoors well ahead of last frost date or directly sow into ground.  Pick leaves in the fall (use plastic gloves to handle leaves) and dry by tying in bundles and placing on a rack.  Use for making nicotinia insecticide tea.

Slug Killer
Hundreds of Blue Rock Station free-range egg shells are crushed to a powder to create a sure-fire slug killer.  Sprinkle under the canopy of the plant and next to the main stem.  You can almost hear the little things crying out in pain as they crawl over what seems to be a harmless powder.

The packet also contains generous portions of some of the products mentioned in the booklet Natural Gardening:  Blue Rock Station Style -  including borax, hot dust mix and bay leaves. ..everything you need to get started controlling pests in a more natural way.

For those new to natural insect control, we strongly suggest you also purchase the Natural Gardening booklet - as it contains detailed instructions on how to use these natural remedies - plus companion planting ideas, compost instructions, manure tea recipes and much more.
