Rare Breed Chickens - 4 weeks  old

The chicks are now about a month old and growing like weeds (or chicks).  They scratch around, taking dust baths, and eating and drinking like little demons.

Occasionally one or two would fly out of the wetlands - but mostly they stayed put.  Not being crowded together - we had no further problems with them pecking each other.  Also, I think having an earth base helped a lot as it provided a very natural environment for them.

We also replaced the chick feeders and water bottles with grown up feeders and water trays.  Saved having to refill them several times a day.
